Today was the funeral of Joan Binns, Andy’s grandmother.
She was fiercely loyal to her family and was never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. She had cupboards full of chocolate and would insist you took some when you visited. She rang us every Saturday at 1pm and if we weren’t in she would leave us voicemail messages, sometimes a PS. She regaled us with stories of her time working in the munitions factory during the war and her boyfriend that lived on Brudenell Road, two streets away from our flat. She looked like a proper old lady, with grey curly hair, but loved Russell Brand.
She lived to the grand old age of 90 years old and will be sadly missed.
