Picks of the Week: Week 16

Posted on April 25, 2011 by

So here we are, coming up on the end of April and the SocialVibe widget in the sidebar is broken. Hopefully it’ll be back up soon, otherwise we’ll find an alternative means for those of you not flush with cash to show your support and appreciation for our bloggers’ hard work.

And if you want a good cross-section of aforementioned bloggers’ hard work, here’s a selection from the last week:

Ash Kendall’s discovery of some emails to Valve from 2005 shows some interesting insight into the company’s philosophy towards story and lore.

Campfireburning’s post on Internet comments was well thought out and raises some interesting points on the nature of the Net’s denizens.

Cameron Pershall’s facetious post on the subject of Valve’s Portal 2 publicity stunt was great, and well worth your time.

Der Emil’s bilingual post on the subject of Easter and religion is a good discussion that should get you thinking. He’s also looking for feedback on his English, so be sure to drop by and let him know what you think.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a poem from Mark Fraser as a Pick of the Week, so here’s a long one for your enjoyment.

This week’s Pick, though, goes to your friend and mine, Mr Alex Cronk-Young, for a post I wholeheartedly agree with. You should start that Shit List, Alex, it’ll make you feel a lot better.

Thanks for your support, everyone, and thanks for your hard work, bloggers. As always, show your support with the widgets in the sidebar and we’ll see you again throughout the week!
